About Float Kansas

Float Kansas started in Manhattan, Kansas on November 2nd, 2014 at Shear Dynamics Salon and Day Spa. We are proud to announce an extension to Lawrence in February 2016 that will take place in the incredibly unique atmosphere provided by Elevate Massage at 1403 Massachusetts Street. Since opening, Float Kansas has had the pleasure to witness some incredible post float testimonies. The goal is to make sure that every customer leaves with less stress, mental fatigue, anxiety, and pain than when they first came in. There is a post float glow a person radiates as they leave their float session. After an hour of voiding your sensory input, the world can seem more bright and crisp than you may have ever noticed before. The magnesium your body absorbs helps  regulate cortisol (stress hormone) levels while also detoxifying and relieving muscle and joint pain. With the water temperature heated up to your external skin temperature (93.5 degrees) you quickly experience a temperature equilibrium that dulls the awareness of your own body allowing you to experience a state of mind without physical distraction. This is a chance to explore your mind, calm your thoughts, and exfoliate your body in a place of absolute stillness. Sensory Deprivation may sound like a scary term, but anyone who has stepped inside a float tank can tell you that it is the exact opposite. This type of therapy is often referred to as the most relaxing experience a person can have. We would absolutely love for you to be the judge of that. There are all types of different people enjoying their floats and finding benefit. Whether it be PTSD, Fibromyalgia, pain management, or general stress and anxiety, float therapy is a unique and effective experience that we are more than proud to bring to these wonderful communities.
